Color photo of the ruins of the Palace of Herod the Great in Jerusalem.

“Wondrous Beyond Words” – Flavius Josephus

The ruins of Herod’s Palace are located here. Many ruins from the first century still exist, the Romans tenth legion buried everything except the three Herodian Towers, and camped here on the site of Herod’s palace for 200 years. You can see the Tower of David up top. The walls  here were constructed in the 16th century by the Arabs (Suleiman) for protection against the crusaders, the original castle walls of Herod were much larger and stronger.
