The Sea of Galilee was located 60 miles from Jerusalem and 27 miles from the Mediterranean Sea. The prophet Isaiah spoke an amazing prophecy about the Messiah coming to the Galilee region. The Sea of Galilee was where Jesus spent much of his time, not only in choosing his fishermen disciples, but also healing the sick, doing his most notable miracles, and teaching the multitudes. Some of the well-known cities on the shores of the Sea of Galilee are familiar names in the Bible, like Capernaum, Bethsaida. and Tiberias. Jesus told His disciples that after He was raised from the dead He would go before them to Galilee.
“But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.” Mark 14:28
