2020 Color photo of the limestone inscription that says, “The House of David” on a victory stele. It was discovered at Tel Dan and dates to the 9th century BC.

David conquered Jerusalem around 1000 BC and made it is capital. A Canaanite people known as the Jebusites had been living there. King David brought the Ark of the Covenant to the city of David and danced before the Lord.
